When Does “Hail, Caesar!” Take Place?

What year is “Hail, Caesar!” set in?

Two direct quotes from the production notes explicitly say 1951. However, the Lockheed recruiter mentions the Bikini Atoll hydrogen bomb test, which took place in 1954. There may be other conflicting evidence inside the film, as well: the copyright dates on the various title cards.
