Klingon Bird-of-Prey Shirt

A silly parody based on the Klingon Bird-of-Prey:

The Dirty Birdy Klingon Bar & Grill

Artwork detail (half actual size):

I’ve made a triangular pixel effect for the KBOP image itself, referencing Klingon graphics’ fondness for triangles.

And a word about the Klingon: the letters on my shirt are ‘real’ Klingon letters, taken from screencaps, but they do not spell anything, either in Klingon or English. They are simply arranged like text, meant to look pretty. Which is exactly how the ST art department did it anyway.

KBoP Side View

A side view of the Bird of Prey as she arcs above the merchantman, near the beginning of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Note the ‘missing’ ‘feather’ panel on the wing closest to the camera, near the wing root, and the apparent greenness of the ‘roll bar’ on the bridge.

Klingon Bird-of-Prey Model Beauty Shot

Found via Google Image Search. A ‘beauty shot’ of the ‘hero’ (as opposed to ‘pyro’) filming miniature of the Klingon Bird-of-Prey from Star Trek III and later films. Note the clearly red ‘roll bar’ on the bridge, and the strong variations in panel colors. On screen, these almost disappear. Source unknown; appears to be a retouched scan of a printed image, possibly from a book.
