The Expanse: Season 1 Amos Sticker Set

After some fiddling around, I’ve managed to fit Amos’ season one patch art onto a set of vinyl stickers at RedBubble. In order to get these as close to actual size as possible, you must order the “Large” (8 x 8.5 inches) sticker. Note that these will have a white border, and that in season 2, Amos has added a P&K patch to his jumpsuit, so these will not work for that costume.

The Expanse: Beratnas Gas Stickers

Here’s the short version: These are vinyl stickers. They are designed to be a stopgap solution, until such time as I figure out how the hell the patches on the show were made, if ever.

What: Orange on white vinyl, self-adhesive, glossy stickers, approximately the same size as the Beratnas chest patches, as best as I can estimate. I’ve tried to scale these based on the known height of Wes Chatham. There is a small amount of uncertainty involved, given the available images. Size is 9.5 x 9.3 centimeters, 3.75 x 3.7 inches, approximately.

When: Available now!

Why: I wanted to provide some kind of temporary solution to the folks asking for patches. Again, this is a stopgap measure, until such time as more accurate patches can be made. These are not made nor intended to last forever. Ideally, you would stick this on a jumpsuit and wear it for a day or two at a con or for Halloween or whatever.

How: Professionally spot-color screen printed (not done by me on my desktop inkjet or anything cheap like that). Vector art by me, based on HD screencaps & promo images.

PayPal me at imhomes@tampabay.rr.com, say it’s for the Beratnas stickers, say how many, and mark it as Payment for Goods or Services. Be sure to include a valid mailing address. These will not be sent insured, nor tracked. If you want to spring for the additional $6.45 cost for domestic Priority Mail, for insurance and tracking, just add it on to your PayPal payment. I am investigating the costs & customs requirements of shipping to Canada, the UK, etc.

International Sales: Not at this time, I’m sorry.

Please Note: These are not die-cut. You must trim these. Die-cutting would have doubled the cost of the stickers. They have six straight cuts, which you should be able to make with an X-acto knife and a metal straightedge. Use a clean, sharp, new blade and practice cutting first. Additionally, they are clean, new, glossy and bright. You may want to weather them. I advise you to exercise caution when doing so. Test your paint or whatever on one of the blank white areas first. It may not adhere to the vinyl.

The Expanse: Amos Burton’s Pin

Amos has a silver-tone devil / demon head pin on his jumpsuit, and a matching tattoo on his arm. I’ve seen many that are close, but none I’m convinced is “the” pin. Retouched screencaps & stills below the jump:

The Expanse: MCRN Pistols, part 2

More screencaps, from episodes 7 + 8. These have all been retouched, lightened, sharpened, etc, to show details, and should not be used for color-matching. 20 or so images after the jump:

The Expanse: New Shirts!

Four new shirt designs up on TeePublic:

expanseshirts4up.jpg

One for the Canterbury herself, one for P&K in general, one for Cere Beer, and one of Amos Burton’s jumpsuit patches (Centauri).

In the interests of full disclosure, I must state that I did take some artistic and poetic license in recreating the Cere Beer label; my source screencaps, though HD, are still small and grainy. The Ceres circular logo and “CERE BEER” are quite accurate, but I did have to make-up the subtler details necessary to finish the design. LMK if the novels give any hard dates for the colonization of Ceres, etc.

The Expanse: Amos Burton’s Pistol

In episode 2, Amos Burton pulls this pistol:

Pistol 1Pistol 2

This is a modified airsoft gun: the WE G26C Advance (Tan). It is in fact a knock-off of a Tokyo Marui airsoft pistol, the Glock 26 Advance, which was featured in (and perhaps created for) the Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex TV series.

There are physical differences between the two pistols: The color of the body (which appears to be the original, unpainted tan plastic on the prop), and the full auto / semi-auto selector switch on the slide, which is not present on the Tokyo Marui. It appears that the barrel and guide rod have been extended, white marking have been applied to conceal the engraving on the slide, and there is an unknown accessory screwed to the slide (?) as well. It’s possible the prop uses a black grip extension on the base of the magazine (as opposed to the stock tan), but the screencaps are inconclusive.
