Today is the 20th anniversary of the release of Virtuosity, starring Denzel Washington (as himself) and the Australian newcomer Russell Crowe as the computer-generated serial killer Sid 6.7. Also an excellent supporting cast.
A key prop is Sid’s ‘character module,’ the data storage device of the future which contains Sid’s program. Destroy the character module = beat the bad guy.
The character modules are exquisitely detailed props made of etched metal & clear resin. They are ferociously complex-looking, and must have taken an enormous amount of effort to perfect and manufacture.
